Peach City Marathon

It was the 10th Annual Brooks Half Marathon in Penticton, and we were so proud to see my daughter, Wendy, after many weeks of training, finish the Race in a respectable 2:19:49. The grueling 21 km course wound through Penticton and outskirts and finished at Skaha Beach Park. We were at the finish line to see her come in. She was elated, and after all the preparation, she deserved to be. We snapped this photo at the Finish Line. How happy does she look? Way to Go, Wendy!!!

Sporting her medal after the Race. I was so proud!

Another Move? Well, not really...

We had made the decision to sell the Big Blue Motorhome and find ourselves another Park Model home here in BC, just like the one we have in Tucson, Arizona. That way, we could drive down by van to Arizona, to our home there, for the winter again, and then return to one similar here in BC for the summer, enabling us to cut down the cost of the high priced gas, and shorten our trip timewise to get to and from. I wasn't the best RVer anyway, so we decided to give it a try. Trouble was, we weren't able to find a Resort Park like ours in Arizona, with all the amenities that we enjoy there, without spending 3X as much here :( So we decided to try a mobile home and found a brand new one situated in a lovely, well kept 45+ Park in Grand Forks, which is about 30 minutes Southeast from Greenwood. It's a little bigger than we wanted, but it is a gorgeous model that we just love. We've only been here two days and already we have met many of our neighbors, all of them very nice. Lots of work to do, though. Have to landscape, fence and build a deck and carport. The summer will be busy!

Our new address is:

We hated to leave our friends at Fort Greenwood, and and the day before our move, they got together had had a little goodbye party for us. We'll miss them, but have promises that they'll visit often.

Soap Lake, Washington

April 12, 2008

On our last night before crossing over the border into BC, we stayed in a lovely little town, (were we had more mechanical problems, this time a manifold replacement) in Eastern Washington called Soap Lake. Gorgeous country with lakes, canyons and the famous Grand Coulee Dam. Was a little too late with this sunset photo, but it turned out pretty well anyway.

April 10, 2008 Our last night in the Desert.

After leaving Las Vegas and having some mechanical problems rectified there, we decided to Boon Dock in the Desert. We have never done it before, so decided to give it a try. For those of you who are not RVers, Boon Docking refers to stopping/camping using a spot with no facilities (water, sewer, electricity, and in our case, no WiFi for TV or Internet). We chose a place about 45 minutes out of Vegas in the Mojave Desert. We stopped at sunset, and it was a wonderful warm night. Believe me, it's as black as black can get when you turn off the battery-run lights when it's time for bed. We slept like logs. Off home tomorrow, North... by way of Idaho, Oregon and Washington.
